Before, when I was much younger, I often knew very well what I did not want and what was not good about the world and the people in it. Turning away from that world allowed me to feel special, but it also separated me from that world.
When my daughter was 8 months old, I ran into walls. I took care of my children full-time; my life revolved largely around them.
When my partner and children were asleep, I stepped into my my own world, the world of painting.
I locked myself in my studio in the attic and sometimes painted late into the night. I often caught up on sleep on weekends.
This kept me connected to my inner world while I was doing a lot of caring and giving to others. At some point that was no longer enough.
I felt down, I saw my future bleak and I didn’t have a particularly nice image of myself.
I had been going through a tough time with the death of my parents within 4 years. In retrospect, I see that my soul knocked on my door and began to wake me up.
I loved being with the kids, but it was starting to itch, I had to do something to break through the ceiling, because that ceiling was getting way too low.
My mission called out.
Because the need was high, I went to attend a training course in London. I left enough breast milk, my partner took time off and took care of the children.
I began to see during that training that I was really responsible for my life and that if I wanted a different life, I had to go create it myself.
I could no longer hang onto another, or hide behind anyone. Or blaming someone else for how my life was.
It had awakened me so much that after returning, I immediately began preparations for establishing a private school (which I mentioned in the previous email).
My life began to change. I began to discover whole other qualities in myself, by actually taking leaps and bounds. I no longer let my fears hold me back.
I started my business in 2005 and was allowed to grow tremendously in it.
Are you chasing your dreams? Or do you prefer to stick with the old familiar?
The 3 reasons why people don’t pursue their dreams are:
- People are afraid to step out of their comfort zone. They now know what they have and what if you start taking risks? What if they lose everything? This is often perceived as terrifying. Many questions come up such as: how do others react to this? Can I do it?
- People listen to and believe their fears too much. Often people do not even dare to really dream, really start looking at what they would really like most, often know well what they do not want. When they do have dreams, they often get bogged down in the bears on the road. They take the side path and do not return to the main road. The side path comes to a dead end.
- People do not trust their feelings, their intuition enough. This is because this is often overshadowed by all those voices in their heads that just can’t quiet down. These voices block the gateway to their intuition
What exactly are these voices? Those voices are usually your inner personalities. These inner parts of yourself each have their own needs, qualities and also pitfalls.
Sometimes they are unbalanced, in shadow, as psychologist Jung and Seena Frost, of SoulCollage® also called it. This implies that part is too much or too little presence a person.
Remember that you have infinite potential and so much more to give to the world.
What dreams would you still like to realize?
