Building self-confidence? Tackle your inner critic

We all know those voices in our heads, wanting all kinds of things. But 1 voice is often very prominent; the inner critic. Listening to this inner voice gnaws at your self-confidence. Building self-confidence does not come naturally. It requires awareness and concrete action. How to do that? In this blog, I address that.

Very unkind …

The inner voice can be very unkind to you. Perhaps you have long believed what your inner critic, the little voice in your head, says to you, ” You are not handsome enough, not smart enough, not confident enough.” Have you had enough of that already?

Like your fear, your inner critic is a way of protecting yourself from all the possible pain that exists. Your inner critic will give you lots and lots of negative feedback until you let go of the dreams you have.

So this voice has its judgment ready everywhere and all the time. It is good to examine these and see how it works. Does it have an angry, addressing voice, or is it very quiet with sly remarks?

Building self-confidence in 2 ways

1. Conscious pride

Every morning and evening, write down something you are proud of. This can be anything, finishing something, showing my feelings and emotion, continuing with something you started or staying nice and close to yourself.

In this way, you clearly show yourself and your inner critic that you are good enough and that you no longer have to believe what you think. There is always something to be proud of.

  • 1 troublesome voice is often present: the inner critic.

2. Getting to know your inner critic better

You will, when you want to create a SoulCollage® card about this aspect, automatically come across an image that represents this inner aspect of yourself. Working with this card using the “I am the one” process allows you to examine it from the helicopter view and bring balance to this aspect.

You can shed light on the shadow by doing the process with it and also find out that the inner critic also has its qualities. In the end, it also wants you to develop well, and you can help this aspect to do so in a good way. You build self-confidence with it.
