The other day I was deeply affected by a comment someone made, someone close to me. Pain was touched and a hurt personality, which I had not experienced for a long time, took almost all the space iin. Almost took over.
I felt it happening and said to this personality: come on, express what you feel, say it, I am listening to you. The inner personality began to speak, expressing all her fears and how she saw the situation. Whew, that wasn’t tender.
She wanted to protect me this way and warn me of danger. Definitely don’t trust the situation and preferably shut the door.
It was a good exercise to get to know this part of me a little better again. In the past, this part had completely taken over the wheel and I had indeed slammed the door, because I would listen to that voice and not realize that it is only a part of me that feels this way then.
I would have actually smashed my own windows then because this part was reacting from situations in my childhood and not how reality is right now. That situation in my youth is no longer there, only that part sometimes still acts on it.
But now I can stay in that helicopter view and look at what part of me is feeling, without losing myself. Staying at the wheel myself, keeping control, but giving space for such a part to express itself inside me as well.
Giving space to this part puts it in the light. It is allowed to be there, is no longer pushed away, so it also does not suddenly take over the wheel.
When a part in yourself is not allowed to be seen, when it is suppressed, it can suddenly surface and take over precisely because of that pressure.
I have created a beautiful blueprint of myself by working with inner personalities for more than 15 years. As a result, everything is allowed to be there in me. I feel so much love for my inner personalities and therefore I can give that to others.
